Kathleen McArthur

A graduate of  Aberdeen University, Kathleen has been specialising in wills, trusts and executries since 2001, having undergone a general training involving other areas of law, including conveyancing and family law work. Kathleen has been an associate of the firm since 2004 and a partner since April 2008, and deals with all aspects of Private Client work, including Wills, Inheritance Tax Planning, Powers of Attorney, Executries and Trusts. She is also a Private Client Tutor on the Diploma in Legal Practice Course at the Glasgow Graduate School of Law.

 

Christine Darby

Christine Darby returned to Edinburgh University to study law after a previous career in health education and qualified in 1986. A partner in the firm, she has over 20 years experience in residential conveyancing and also acts for several mortgage lenders as asset manager and property lawyer. She oversees the residential conveyancing, asset management and estate agency departments in the firm and supervises the paralegal assistants in the Glasgow and Hamilton offices. She is the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the firm.

Rosina M Dolan

A graduate of Glasgow   University in 1994 and assumed as a Partner in 1999, Rosina practices in private client matters including financial and tax services. Rosina is a former tax tutor on the SOLAS and Diploma in Legal Practice courses. She holds a number of financial and tax qualifications and is authorised by the FSA to provide independent financial advice.

 

Rosina also practices in civil litigation and acts for a number of commercial clients.

 

Bethia Hamilton

Having entered the Law Society in 1984, Beth tutored at the University of Glasgow and subsequently Glasgow Graduate School of Law, on the Diploma in Legal Practice in the subjects of Private Client, Taxation and Financial Services.  She held the position of Senior Co-ordinating Tutor for over ten years but has now resigned to concentrate on work within the firm.  Beth joined our Dunblane Office in 1999 as a part-time assistant concentrating in the fields of Wills, Trusts, Executries and Taxation.  She became a partner in 2005 and now works full time.  She presents seminars to members of the profession in all areas of Private Client work.  Beth is a member of the Society of Trust and Executry Practitioners. 

 

Iain C Dunn

Practises in all aspects of commercial property work, carrying out purchases and sales for institutional investors and being involved in developments for funding and purchasing institutions. All aspects of security work including their enforcement. Keith H Mackenzie

A partner since 1988, Keith heads the firm’s litigation department.  He practises and has considerable experience in the fields of personal injury [acting on behalf of UK and foreign clients], commercial litigation [acting on behalf of UK and foreign insurers and commercial organisations], maritime law, motor vehicle claims, bankruptcy and insolvency and contractual disputes both in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and the Court of Session. 

 

Catherine Young Kerr

Joined the firm’s court department in 2002 and became a partner in 2005.  Practises in the field of civil litigation, family law, child law, bar reports, adults with incapacity, licensing, bankruptcy, insolvency and contractual disputes.  A tutor in Civil Advocacy and Pleadings at Glasgow Graduate School of Law and a Committee Member of the Family Law Association.

Stuart Fraser

Stuart has considerable experience in a wide range of personal injury litigation (particularly in the industrial sphere) both at Sheriff Court and Court of Session level.

He also deals with contention matters arising from other fields such as contractual disputes, employment law and liquor licensing.
 

Stuart H F Gibb

Stuart joined Tho and J W Barty in 2006 for a breath of fresh air having previously worked in Glasgow since graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 1984. In Glasgow he was a partner at Macpherson Gibb Maguire Cook before spending 5 years at the Property and Private Client department of The Anderson Partnership, and then joining Tho and J W Barty/ BMK Wilson in Dunblane. Throughout his career Stuart has advised on a wide range of topics but primarily on property related matters including Domestic and Commercial Conveyancing, boundary and servitude disputes and Agricultural law and leases. In addition, he advises a wide range of clients on various matters including Employment law, Intellectual Property, Commercial and Corporate law. In 2000, Stuart was appointed a part time Tribunal Judge.

Jack Wilson is a consultant of the firm with over thirty years experience of financial and tax services. Jack was the Senior Partner of the firm of John Wilson & Co in Glasgow. He holds the Financial Planning Certificate issued by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

 

Alastair Garland

Anne M Blackstock

Having been a partner of the firm since 1987, Anne retired to a consultancy role in April 2010. Practises in all aspects of commercial property work with an emphasis on the privately owned self-managed businesses and partnerships. Anne has extensive experience in all conveyancing aspects of private client work. With effect from November 2011, Anne no longer practises law on a daily basis, but remains associated with the firm and is available for consultation.
