COMMERCIAL PROPERTY

The firm is proud of the fact that it has acted on behalf of many of its leading commercial clients for a long number of years. A significant factor in this achievement has been the detailed knowledge that the firm's partners have of those clients and their businesses, a result of the firm's policy of maintaining day to day partner involvement in clients' business. Rather than delegate work whenever possible, the firm has sought to ensure that the business of many of its clients is dealt with, on a day to day basis, at partner level.

The firm's partners are available on a daily basis and are readily contactable by telephone, e-mail or fax. It is also the firm's policy to ensure that when a key or lead partner is absent or unavailable for any length of time his work will be attended to and or supervised by another partner, who will be available to clients.

The firm has extensive experience of advising on a wide range of commercial matters, particularly in relation to commercial property, including:

  • •  property sales and purchases
  • •  leases
  • •  property development
  • •  property finance and secured lending
  • •  planning and environmental law
  • •  partnership and joint venture law

The following partners specialise in the Commercial Property division of BMK Wilson: Iain C Dunn and Finlay J McKendrick.

The Commercial Property division is further supported by Katy Davenport, one of the firm's assistant solicitors. Katy graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 and joined BMK Wilson's commercial property department in 2008 following a traineeship with an international commercial law firm.  Katy practices in all aspects of commercial property work, in particular purchases and sales for institutional investors and commercial leasing (acting for both institutional and private landlords as well as tenants).
